Hi people of da internet, this is Kawailehua, a Big Brothers Big Sisters Kid Reporter!

What I saw at the Sports Maui Invitational was people running around to make shots in the hoop to make a score. The final score was North Carolina, 110 and Chaminade, 63. So as you can tell the Chaminades got their butts kicked. That's okay, maybe they'll win next year.

The first person that I interviewed was Payton Holiday, he is 11 years old. He said that his favorite basketball team is North Carolina. The first basketball game that ever went to was when he was six months old! He also said yes he will play basketball with his friends one day. Lastly, he said that if he was a basketball star he would play as long as he could and that when he was in the game, he would play his very hardest.

Then I interviewed Chris Goff, who is 34 years old. He said that his favorite basketball team is the Boston Celtics. Then he said that the first basketball game the ever went to was 26 years ago in 1982! He also said that he would play basketball with his friends one day. He went on to say that if he was a basketball star he would play as long and hard as he could.

Sincerely yours,

Kawailehua LaBatte

Hula O Na Keiki Competition

BBBS Kid Reporter Miksa Karcheski
Age: 9

Hello, I am about to tell you all about the Hula O Na Keiki. The Hula O Na Keiki is a hula competition for girls and boys ages 6 to 12. This year was the 18th time that they have done this event.

As we walked into auditorium there was bamboo coming from the ground, it was at least 10 feet tall. The lights were fluorescent pink, green and blue. It was extraordinarily beautiful. The judges were introduced and many of them said a Hawaiian chant after they were introduced.

It took them quite a while before the event actually started, but I guess they had to squeeze a lot in. After they announced all of their announcements the show began. The hula dancers were very graceful, they took pride in their work. After the first dance we had to go. And that was what the Hula O Na Keiki was like.
